About Me

Joseph Watts Photography (JWP), an independent, freelance photographic company, was founded in 2008, based in Canterbury, Kent. In 2008 Joseph graduated from De Montfort University with a 2.1 in Film and Media Studies.

His passion for photography was fashioned at an early age, and as a young boy he was always the one capturing the moment, moving or still, at the family celebrations. During his gap year, he studied photography at the local college.

“Seeing life through a camera lens is as natural as breathing for me”, says Joseph, who as a freelance photographer now specialising in shooting fashion, portraiture and just about anything that involves people. He thrives on the moment when the client, having given their best, sees the final, high quality imagery.

Joseph’s work is heavily influenced by film and media and you can detect the cinematic influence in his private works, which often construct a narrative within a still image. Sometimes Joseph refreshes his artistic palette with landscape work, this shines through in exemplary fashion during his recent break in Barbados.
